Installing Please read the "Manual Install" document found in the downloaded disk image for the step by step instruction. Make a new InDesign document or open a document. Choose "New Equation" item to create an equation. If the cursor is located in the text box, the equation will be inserted in the cursor position as an In-line Graphic ILG.
Otherwise, the equation will be placed as an EPS graphic on where you click the mouse. You may select the Sigma tool button from the floating main toolbar to create an equation box, and then drag a rectangle in the document to specify the location of an equation once created by the external MathMagic Pro. You may also control-click or right button click while the cursor is in the text box, so that you can choose the "New Equation" from the contextual menu.
If you either select "New Equation" menu or drag a rectangle with th Sigma tool, MathMagic Pro application will be launched, if not running already, and an empty equationd editor window will be opened. In case MathMagic Pro application is not launched automatically within a few seconds, please launch the application manually from the following location.
This will send the equation to the InDesign document back. Editing Equations Choose "Edit Equation Or, just double-click on the equation box to open it with the external MathMagic Pro application for editing. You may also control-click on the equation to bring up the contextual menu, after changing the cursor to the Arrow tool. Changing the Baseline and Bounding margins The baseline of all equations will be automatically adjusted. But if you want to lower or raise the baseline, you may do so. Or, select one equation, or drag-select a range of text to include multiple equations, or select a Text box, then go to Plug-ins - MathMagic - Apply StyleSet command. Select one StyleSet from the list.
Then, specify the scope to apply the StyleStyle: the selection equation, the current Text box, the current Page, or the whole document. Then, click "Apply". The maximum number to Apply a StyleSet is equations at a time. If the selected range includes more than , please select smaller area and try again. If multiple equations are in the specified area, it may take a while to apply a StyleSet to all the equations in the scope.
If no equation is found in the specified area, or if more than equations, there will be an error message. After applying a StyleSet to all specified equations, there will be a Completion message with the total applied number of equations. If just one equation is selected, the completion message may not be displayed.

The software works very well. It was stated on the Markzware website that a version for windows is being prepared, but this information is no longer there. Can any of the developers please write, so how will it be? Still nothing for ID So much time lost having to re-do old forms from scratch.
By far my biggest frustration with this product. Hello Michael. We understand your frustration with the lack of timely releases for the Windows Q2ID plug-in. We're in the process of replacing the plug-in with a stand-alone application, which will mean you don't need an update for every new version of InDesign.
I'm sorry for the frustration in the meantime. Q2ID did exactly what it promised. It's super easy to download and use. Just opened my Quark files in ID and I was ready to go. I didn't lose any time trying to figure out. The sales rep patiently answered all my questions and even ran a page test for me before I bought the software. I wish every company cared as much about their product as Markzware does.
I'm happy converting all the QXD files to Indesign and word. It handles my pedigree boxes in great fashion so that I can keep them updated.
With the novel, I can select the words and paste them into Word, my choice for the move. Have used previous versions with great success. I am now using the latest version with CC It works perfectly with virtually everything. Very little paragraph reformatting.
Sometimes the artwork would resize slightly when the artwork was rekindled to the original. AI files. This was a HUGE timesaver! The program works as described, but the Q2ID program downloaded for InDesign CC also contains bugs that were found in earlier versions. For example, in converted files, each textbox gets an external and an internal hold value.
These must be repaired manually. It works well anyway, I recommend it to everyone! It's the fonts that you have to find in some cases. Only used the product for one week but Q2ID could be a great time saver for myself as I may have hundreds of Quark documents to convert to InDesign. Or what if you want something a little more convenient, and more thorough?
The answer is to look at the commercial possibilities. Markzware have been a name I've been familiar with for years. My first experience of their software was with an early version of Flightcheck which scanned Quark files, images and fonts to ensure that everything that should be there was there Quark didn't include fonts in the collect for output option until version 5. This is what Markzware does very well - it looks for gaps in the big software titles and then designs the plugins and software to fill those gaps.
Their customer service is excellent as well - I remember e-mailing a hurried message of to the support guys late on a Friday, not really expecting any help until the following week. They called back within two minutes - I've been a fan ever since! Q2ID will convert versions 3. However, Markzware are up-front about the fact that no conversion is perfect, and some reworking will probably be required. So if you're looking for a perfect facsimile of the original, you'll be disappointed unless the document being converted is very basic.
Any conversion will, however, save you an enormous amount of time which would otherwise be spent on recreating the Quark files manually.
